nfllogoncfllogosmallQualifying to nationals is an amazing feat!  Through our school's history, 31 students have represented our squad 74 times:  17 have competed 29 times at NFL nationals, and 26 have competed 45 times at NCFL nationals.  A complete roster follows.

Harvard Tournament 2006 Print E-mail

Eva Lam Wins HarvardWinning her second major national championship (as the first young woman to do so in the history of Student Congress at the Harvard Invitational) was Eva Lam.  Joining Eva in the final round/session was her sister, Myra Lam.  Joining both in semi-final competition was Nicholas Nowak. Elsewhere in the tournament in Extemporaneous Speaking, Sarah Hinkfuss advanced to quarterfinals and Kevin Bailey advanced to Octafinals.

NCFL 2005: 5th Place Finish Print E-mail

Eva CFL 2005MCFL LogoCongratulations to Eva Lam for finishing 5th in Student Congress at the 2005 NCFL Grand National Tournament, held right here in Milwaukee!  This is the first time Rufus King has advanced to the final "super" Congress at NCFL nationals, and joining Eva in this amazing accomplishment were her teammates Kyle Szarzynski and Sam Daly.

National Champions 2006! Print E-mail

nflchamps06t At this year’s NFL National Speech and Debate Tournament in Dallas, TX, Rufus King was the only school to win two out of 17 championship titles.  At the beginning of the event, close to 500 schools vied for competitive accolades.

National Champion 2005! Print E-mail
NFL National Champion 2005Achieving a rare accomplishment as a junior, Eva Lam is the 2005 National Forensic League Champion Representative and Presiding Officer (earning a three-foot gavel) in the Sen. John C. Stennis National Student Congress.  Rarely does the final "super session" Presiding Officer win the tournament, and she did just that as the first Wisconsinite to win an NFL national title in congress, and the first in twenty years to claim an NFL championship in any event.  Eva is also the first-ever female student to preside over the final session at the NFL National Congress.

NFL Milestone: The 200 Club Print E-mail

NFL Nationals: Salt Lake City Print E-mail
014_13.JPGCongratulations again to Sam Daly, Eva Lam, Coty Roberts and Kyle Szarzynski for qualifying to the National Forensic League National Tournament in Salt Lake City, UT. Sam and Eva are our first students ever to advance to a final round at the national tournament, and they did so in Student Congress.


While at the national tournament, our squad hosted "shadowing" international guests from Zimbabwe, Africa (see photo: pictured to Mr. Jacobi's right is Naseemah, and to his left is Adelaide).
