Week of Tournament Announcements Print E-mail
We look forward to seeing you this Saturday for the Rufus King/Alverno College Forensics Tournament.  Please read this information carefully, and share any relevant tidbits with your students.
  1. Don't forget to remind students to purchase $5 meal tickets upon arrival Saturday morning.
  2. Rounds 1-3 of Demonstration, Discussion, Farrago, Four Minute, Moments in History, Public Address, Special Occasion and Storytelling will be at Audubon Middle School (across 39th Street from the Alverno campus).  Your students should head over by 8:30 to receive schedule schematics; round 1 will start earlier there (8:45) than on campus; they should return to campus immediately after round 3 to eat lunch sooner.  Extemp/Radio students should report to the 4th Floor of the LA building, Kellogg A.
  3. CROSS-ENTRIES: It’s a good idea for any double-entered contestants to have teammates write a message on boards in their other rounds that they are multiple-entered and will be on their way..
  4. DROPS:  up to 9 p.m. Friday evening, e-mail changes to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with the subject: “Registration Changes” or leave a message at (920) 279-8822.  The earlier I get changes, the more efficient scheduling will be Saturday morning.  To that end, please carefully re-check confirmation of your entries below and alert us to any errors immediately.  Adds can be made up to Friday on a space-available basis.
  5. On Saturday morning, between 6:45 and 7:45 a.m. (NO LATER, PLEASE), you MUST call to report drops: (414) 382-6653, or, if no answer: (920) 279-8822.  Milwaukee-area coaches:  if you’re having your students meet you at Alverno, please have them report by 7:30 or have them call you (and for students who do not call, you MUST drop them) so we can run schematics in a timely manner. All it takes is one school NOT being a “team-player” to delay the entire tournament!!
  6. Directions to campus may be found at http://www.alverno.edu/about_alverno/map_direction.html
Busses should drop off/pick up teams at the Rotunda Entrance (off of 43rd St.), and may park in the Nursing Lot, off of Morgan Ave.  Other vehicles may park in any of the lots on campus.
  7. All judges must check-in, attend the meeting at 8:30 in Alumnae Hall and be available for final (power) and standby rounds.  Schools of no-show (absent) judges will be fined $30 per incident/round.
PLEASE SHARE STUDENT CODES WITH THEM BEFORE ARRIVING ON CAMPUS.  When you arrive, you will receive Storytelling cards and Discussion name cards.  PLEASE REMEMBER TO DISTRIBUTE THESE, TOO!
